Noah has been with therapies for 2 years. We started with Speech Therapy, then add on Occupation Therapy. A year later, we arranged another Occupation Therapy for Noah. Noah was with 2 OT and 1 ST, having total of 3 hours therapy per week.
At the beginning of this year, one of his OT was being canceled and we added in Music Therapy and another Speech Therapy.
Noah is 5 this year and he has very little progress over the time. He is being left alone in school. He has no idea to adapt and blend in with the group. I am very worried as there is not much time left for Noah to picked up. I talked to a special school principle, who rejected Noah enrollment as the school only take in high functioning autistic kids. The principle mentioned on changing the new therapist if no significant progress after 6-8 months.
I then make a daring decision. In consideration on our financial capability and the available resources, we decide to stop Noah OT and ST class that we engaged him the earliest. We maintain Noah with the new ST, the normal kindergarten school and the music therapy. We also enroll Noah with 3 hours a week holistic program. Will monitor the progress.
