Speech Progress - Review for Mid Jan'19

PECs

Noah is very comfortable with 'help' even though he is yet to pronounce it precisely. He is now very used to PECs and uses it to demand food, ask for help and play 'spin & throw'.
He has just picked up on 'go', 'stop' and 'fast'. He needs more practice to get clearer understanding of 'go' & 'stop'.

Effort to be continue with the use of 'yes' & 'no' as Noah still confuse with these two PECs symbols.

We are expanding Noah vocab with 'read' and he starts to have an ideal on the PECs symbol of 'read'

Expand that 'H' words

Noah is in the progress to make sound of 'help' and he learn that it is a very powerful and useful word for him. We need to continue to encourage more precise 'help' words. On top of that, we need to explore more words that start with 'H" sound and work on it. Such as 'hot' & 'hi" etc.

Reading time with Flip Book for 'open', 'close' & 'see'

We just picked up a technique to read with Noah. His favorite juice time is perfect to such practice. We were advice to sit with Noah, best to kind of make him sit around the corner to he is less likely to escape. Giving him juice is a method to let him relax and enjoy co-reading time.

Encourage Noah's approach to 'open' & 'close' the flip to practice the words. Pointing the graphic to introduce 'see' word, with assistance of PECs is also our next practice approach.

Continue with Gesture

Noah is still not picking up on gesture for 'eat', 'yes' & 'no'. We need to continue work on this and also expand it to 'open' & 'close'

** Remark: Noah made 'I like' sound while drinking his favorite juice during his Speech Therapy sessions.
